February 25, 2016 No Comments Continue Reading Blog Posts, Essential Oils, Positively Glamorous Goods Discovering Young Living Essential Oils March 25, 2017 No Comments I started out just trying two Young Living Essential Oils to see if I liked them. I was a new mom, and desperate for quality products for my home, my baby and my family. I quickly used them up. I decided to dive in and purchase a starter kit, because I knew I would save the most money that way. Let me be clear…when I purchased my starter kit I told my friend who sold it to me (who is also a nurse at the Birth center where I had my daughter Elizabeth), “I’m so excited about my kit and using it, but there is no way I’m going to sell it. I’ve got three jobs right now and I’m so busy, there is no way.” Then I got my kit in the mail and everything changed. I was blown away by the quality of the oils and their products. I started using them for my family’s wellness, replacing common cleaners and beauty products with homemade items made with Young Living, I began using Young Living’s Vitality line when cooking and putting the vitality oils in my water. People noticed a difference in us and asked what we were doing and I was so excited and thrilled that I had to share. Continue Reading Blog Posts, Inspiration My New Year’s Wish For Less January 3, 2017 No Comments Five email address and over 100,000 emails were in my inboxes. Tech clutter. I didn’t even know they were a burden until they had been deleted. This year, 2017, my wish is for less, starting with emails. Less clutter, less stuff, less scheduled activities and more freedom. I hate to use the word minimalism because it is dramatically overused. However, my desire for less and realization for how much room is left for happiness when there isn’t so much “stuff” is thanks to the minimalism gurus. One of my favorites is Allie Casazza. She keeps it real and is a mom as well so she understands the struggle when comes to the clutter our dear little ones bring along. I highly recommend her free Periscope videos on getting started with the decluttering process. With Christmas came loads of new “things” and to prevent too much from entering the house I placed all of the new items on the dining room table, grabbed a garbage bag and for each new item put in its place, another item went in the garbage bag for the Goodwill. It is a start, and I encourage you to also seek out a little less this year! Continue Reading Blog Posts, Interior Design / DIY Anthropologie Inspired Dining Room “Make-Under” July 10, 2016 No Comments I’ll be honest, I watched every episode of Fixer Upper during my maternity leave and I got the itch to change things up in the dining room. We really were not using the space because it felt way too formal and stuffy. I decided a dining room “make-under” was in order to make the space more usable. I imagined a place for game nights, kid’s art activities and Sunday breakfasts. I was also inspired by the book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. In the book, the author encourages us to only keep items we love and that make us feel good. I realized the previous dining set was not something I loved, more so something I felt obligated to have for those twice a year fancy dinners. I encourage you to also go through the process of ridding your home of things that don’t make you happy or don’t get used-in the end, it feels wonderful! So here is the finished product. This project wasn’t complicated, it simply took a lot longer than most since it was my first project as a new mom and there were very few pockets of time to work on it! This project still wouldn’t be finished if it wasn’t for my mom and mother-in-law. Their touches make the room extra special! Here is what we did: Repainted the entire room and trim to feel more light and airy. Repainted the china cabinet to a vintage green and added new hardware from Anthropologie. (This cabinet was originally a desk! I bought it at a yard sale and we converted it.) Took an old Ikea painting and turned it into a chalkboard using chalkboard paint and flooring samples as a border. Added new hardware to the wine rack purchased from World Market. Added new curtains from ikea Switched out the dining room table to a table purchased on craigslist and then distressed with an electric sander. Switched out the dining room chairs to metal and wood chairs purchased from Wayfair. Himalayn Salt purifies the air and there is even a place at the top for your favorite essential oil. This cardigan from Forever 21 is super cozy yet very trendy! I love pairing it with a nursing tank top and jeans. This song alway...
